The village was founded by the Turks around 1800. The village is on a hill overlooking the plain. It got its name because of the grass that is abundant in its plain. It is 30 km from Süleymanpaşa. The economy of a village depends on agriculture and husbandry. There is a primary school in the village, but besides it cannot be used, transported education is used. The village has both drinking water and sewage mains network. There is no PTT branch or PTT agency. There is no health centers and health posts. The road that provides access to the village is asphalt and there is electricity and fixed telephone in the village. The population of 2019 is 102 people. After Tekirdağ gained the metropolitan status on December 6, 2012, all villages turned into neighborhoods.
